Meredith has been building websites for family and friends since the mid-90s. When the demand for websites boomed, she was coerced into launching her own web design business. Freelancing posed great challenges while raising young children. Business was feast or famine.
Her priority turned to earning a steady paycheck to support her family, which prompted a seven-year stint with Dow Jones Local Media Group in a local daily newspaper. Meredith’s responsibilities included, but was not limited to, writing, editing, fact checking, layout and page design, creating schematics, photo toning, and graphic design in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
An Army brat, she grew up in rural America within a retail food service environment. She understands the hardships and joys of owning and operating a small business. The greatest lesson she’s come away with is that being customer oriented is the key to building a tribe of advocates and networking opportunities.
